Noble Energy Inc., one of the biggest oil and gas companies operating in Colorado, has implemented another round of layoffs that the Texas company had warned about in September.
Houston-based Noble (NYSE: NBL) said Tuesday it had laid off a total of 60 people in the exploration, geoscience and support departments.
Five layoffs occurred in the Denver office, and the remainder were in Houston, according to a statement from the company on Tuesday.
The decisions come “as Noble Energy focuses its exploration and geoscience capabilities on increasing onshore U.S. value and high-grading global offshore exploration inventory,” the statement said.
That’s the same language the company used in September when it warned it would cut staff by the end of 2016.
